Product titles best practices

Depending on our collaboration type HomeRoots will white label your items so if you can implement these best practices on product titles, it will help us move more quickly.

  • Remove your Company, Collection and Product names from the title.
  • Short titles are better, but must be more than three words.
  • Remove symbols - no ampersand, dash, backslash or underscore (&, -, /, _) and spell out “and” or “with” instead of using symbols.
  • Do not use size adjectives in the title - no small, medium or large.
  • Descriptive adjectives such as matte finish, distressed, weathered, antiqued, re-claimed, recycled or lacquered are important.
  • Higher price point items should have matching higher value titles, use language to convey lux quality.
  • If something is a set, please make it plural and spell it out - set of 2 bar stools.
  • Never use these words in title descriptions: Polyester, MDF, Particle Board, Resin, Rusty, Rotten, Veneer (use the word finish instead), Polypropylene
